Aaaaaaaaand that’s why I never get a plate with my car details on it. How sad would it be to have a tag that says “SWEETM3" on a Honda Odyssey?

Only if you live in a state where you keep your plate; I believe in all the states I’ve registered cars, Texas, Georgia, and South Carolina, the plate stays with the car.

Here in NC you can transfer the tag or get a new one. Usually easier to transfer as you have to go down to the DMV to turn the old one in.

Reminds me of a car I used to see; rather, a pair of them. This woman had a white Z3 with “LIVONCE” on the plate. Sure, fine, whatever. I don’t like it but I can see why one might put that on their zippy convertible. But then the Z3 is replaced. By a white Camry. Now she’s driving a white Camry but kept the plate, LIVONCE. Yeeeeah.
Last I checked, she had a new, different Z3 - maybe the other one got wrecked, who knows? But the plate is back where it belongs now. More or less.
